Free use and Pro

Planet Finder is free to download. Some features are free, others have a daily limit. Planet Finder Pro unlocks PlatonAI and every feature of the app.

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase

  • Pro is offered as auto-renewing subscriptions (for example weekly, monthly or yearly) and as a one-time lifetime purchase. The plans, prices and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged to your account within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period already paid. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment. It does not renew and unlocks Pro for your Apple Account for good.
  • You can restore your purchases with “Restore” on the Pro screen of the app, on any iPhone signed in with the same Apple Account.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple under the App Store terms; refunds are decided by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.

PlatonAI

  • PlatonAI answers questions about astronomy and the night sky with an AI model from an outside provider (MiniMax). Its answers are generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important, and do not rely on the answers for safety or navigation decisions.
  • Use PlatonAI only for lawful purposes. Do not send content that is unlawful, abusive or infringes the rights of others, do not try to make it produce harmful content, do not share other people’s personal data, and do not use it to generate content in bulk or to get around its limits.
  • PlatonAI has daily and weekly question limits, shown in the app. We may change the limits, pause PlatonAI for maintenance or switch it off for anyone who misuses it.
  • The questions you send are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Astronomical information

Positions, times and events are calculated from published astronomical models and are approximate. The weather, light pollution, the horizon around you and the accuracy of your phone’s sensors all affect what you can actually see. Never look at the Sun directly, or through binoculars or a telescope, without a proper solar filter.

Using the app

Do not modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, try to get around its purchase system or limits, or interfere with our servers.

Content and liability

The app, its design, texts, illustrations and sounds belong to Sempeak or its licensors. NASA images are credited and used under NASA’s media guidelines. Planet Finder is provided “as is”; we cannot promise that it will always run without interruptions or errors, or that astronomical or AI answers are accurate. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

We may update these terms from time to time; the date above shows the current version.
