Privacy Policy
Planet Finder · Last updated: 2 November 2026
Planet Finder is made by Sempeak İnternet Reklam Bilişim A.Ş. (“Sempeak”, “we”), the data controller. This policy covers the Planet Finder iOS app and the Planet Finder pages on spinbo.net. The short version: there is no account, the sky is worked out on your iPhone, and data leaves your phone only for the services described below.
What stays on your iPhone
- Location: your approximate location (accurate to about a kilometre) is used on your iPhone to compute the sky above you. The astronomy runs on the device and works without a connection. To show the name of your town, the app looks it up with Apple’s location service, which receives your approximate coordinates for this under Apple’s privacy policy. Apart from that, your location is sent only as described under PlatonAI below.
- Camera and motion sensors: the AR finder uses the camera, the compass and the motion sensors to draw the sky over the camera image. The camera image is processed on the device; it is not recorded or sent.
- Photos: when you pin a photo onto an object, you choose it with Apple’s photo picker and it stays inside the app on your device. When you save an AR picture, the app only asks for permission to add it to your photo library. We never see your photos.
- Calendar and reminders: adding a sky event to your calendar uses add-only access, and reminders and other notifications are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. None of this is sent to us.
- Settings, saved objects and game progress are stored only on your device.
PlatonAI
You can ask PlatonAI questions only after you have agreed to the explanation in the app. When you ask a question, the app sends: the message you typed and the earlier messages of that conversation; your approximate coordinates and place name; your local time, your time zone and the objects above your horizon at that moment; the app language; a random device identifier created by the app, your Pro status and, if there is one, the random profile identifier of our purchase analytics provider Adapty.
- This goes to our server on spinbo.net, which passes the conversation, the sky details and your location to MiniMax, the AI provider that writes the answer under its own privacy terms. The device identifier is not passed to MiniMax.
- So that the daily and weekly question limits work, our server keeps a usage record for each question (time, device identifier, the Adapty profile identifier if there is one, the model used, and how long and how big the answer was).
- To improve the answers, we keep the question and the answer together with the language, the time zone and the topics and objects they mention. Your coordinates and place name are not stored as separate data, but if a question or an answer mentions your town, it is kept as written.
- These records are deleted after 400 days, error records after 90 days.
- From version 1.11 you can withdraw your consent at any time in the app under Settings → PlatonAI data sharing. PlatonAI then stops working; nothing else changes. In earlier versions, stop using PlatonAI and write to [email protected]; we will delete your PlatonAI records.
Purchases
Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account and processed by Apple; we never see your card details. The app uses Adapty, our subscription analytics provider (adapty.io/privacy), to load the paywall and to measure sales. When the app starts, the Adapty SDK sends Adapty a random profile identifier, your device model, iOS version, language and region settings, the identifier for vendor (IDFV) that Apple gives the app, and your IP address. Adapty also receives which paywalls you see, your purchases (product, price, currency, store country, dates and transaction identifiers) and, only if you allow tracking, your advertising identifier (IDFA). Adapty passes the purchase events on to our server on spinbo.net, where we use them to understand sales and renewals. IP addresses, email addresses and advertising identifiers are removed before we store them. We keep these records as long as we need them for our accounts and tax obligations.
Ad measurement (Meta)
To measure our ads, the app contains the Meta (Facebook) SDK. No app events are sent before you have answered Apple’s tracking prompt. After you answer, the app reports these events to Meta: the app being opened, onboarding completed, the paywall shown, a trial started and purchases with product and price. If you allow tracking, Meta may link these events to your advertising identifier (IDFA); if you do not, the identifier is not shared and Meta measures the events in aggregate. You can change your choice at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Meta’s privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy/.
NASA images and remote settings
The app downloads its settings (for example the texts of the paywall) and the NASA data from spinbo.net; these requests carry no personal data. NASA’s photo of the day is loaded directly from NASA’s servers, which see your IP address like any website you visit (nasa.gov/privacy/). Our server and Cloudflare briefly process your IP address to deliver requests securely and to limit abuse; server logs are kept for at most 14 days.
The website
The Planet Finder pages on spinbo.net are part of the Spinbo website; its privacy policy covers cookies and analytics there: spinbo.net/privacy. On the Planet Finder pages we use Google Analytics only (after your consent where that is required) and count taps on the App Store buttons (source, device type, language and country; no IP address). These counts are deleted after 400 days.
Your choices
- Change location, camera, photo and calendar access in iPhone Settings → Planet Finder.
- Turn PlatonAI data sharing off in the app under Settings (version 1.11 and later), or write to us to have your PlatonAI records deleted.

Age
Planet Finder is an app for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe such information reached us, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights and contact
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use (including under the GDPR, the Turkish KVKK and US state laws such as the CCPA). As there is no account, please tell us which device you used and roughly when, so we can find the records. Data controller: Sempeak İnternet Reklam Bilişim A.Ş.. Contact: [email protected]
